I just wanted to let you know that I saw your book on Pinky’s website and took an interest to it straight away I went out and purchased your book in Big W And I can honestly say within moments of reading it I was hooked.

It is one of the best books I have read and I haven’t even picked up a book since my second son was born 5 months ago! I read it before I go to bed and am enjoying it sooo much!

Thank you for writing this honest informative book, I really needed a book like this!

Kind regards Karen (via email).

I have read a LOT of parenting books but none that really focus on the emotional needs of the mother after pregnancy. I think this book is a fantastic, unique read.

I just started reading it last night and am already enjoying it so much. I am still finding it very relevant, despite the fact that it’s now over 3 years since I last gave birth. It contains some really great reminders of little things that I have probably neglected increasingly over the years, and I can’t wait to read the rest of it.

I have finished reading your book and absolutely loved it, I have already given a copy to a client who has just had her second baby and is finding things a little difficult. When I first met you I thought that you were so at peace with yourself and with everyone around you, I was not aware of what you were going through at the time. I wonder whether this is because as women we are so clever at hiding what is really going on or, as a pregnant woman with my first child, I was just a little self-absorbed and not really aware that anything could go wrong once you had a child. As I read through your book I found that I related to both your story and many others, I think that a lot of women would. I still can relate to a lot of what you wrote even 3 years after giving birth to my second child.

As a naturopath I think that this book will be a great tool when treating new mothers, it gives me many different topics to address with them. All mothers have different experiences and your book covers many of these experiences. I am going to start an alternative to mother’s groups where mother can come together to discuss how they are feeling about being a mum, a woman, a partner and just general feelings of mothers. Mother Me is an excellent reference for this type of group, each week we can choose a different topic from the book to discuss and share feelings about. Mothers need to know that there are other women experiencing similar feelings to them, I believe that Mother Me helps women realise this. I would recommend this book to any health professional who deals with mothers, whether with their first or fourth child.

Congratulations Katie, Mother Me is a book that has gone places previously unaddressed. Your frankness and openess is refreshing and extremely welcome. Well done, I am enjoying reading it thoroughly!

I want to thank you for writing such a wonderful book. I don't have any close family, and so I needed the nurturing and the support that your book provided. Fortunately a friend gave me your book as a gift and I really related to you and your book. I wish you every success with the book. Whenever a friend of mine announces that they are having a baby, out I go, to buy another copy - I think your book is the best baby shower gift!!
