Mother Me by Katie Brown
Mother Me by Katie Brown is the kind of book that any new mum, trying to navigate their way through the perils of motherhood, should have. The main emphasis of the book is the wellbeing of the mother in all her varied roles, ie. mother, lover, wife, friend and daughter. It offers practical and sensible advice in a manageable, humorous and easy to read
format. Real stories are included from mums who are willing to share their strategies in coping with problems and reaching their goals. Throughout the book is a series of fun exercises to do that are thought provoking and help reveal what is really important to you. Also included in the book is a series of yoga exercises and baby massages that many mums may find peaceful and rewarding. Definitely worth a try! If you are in need of further practical advice turn to the back of the book which has a whole host of services that can be contacted. Everything from baby goods to support services are included. This book is definitely worth having on hand to use either as a handy reference or to read when things feel a bit much. It’s always nice to know you’re not alone.

"I had a lot of trouble after I had Lucas,’’ Brown says. ‘‘Like a lot of new mothers I was focused on the pregnancy and the birth and I just assumed that the rest of it would come together."

While she loved her baby dearly ...
